Counselling
Stress and life imbalances can create a raft of problems, which contribute to illness and dullness of spirit.
Symptoms may include:
· Feeling sad, flat or depressed
· Relationship problems
· Stress, worry and anxiety
· Recovery from traumatic events
· Grief and loss
· Low self-esteem
· Social isolation
· Searching for meaning or purpose in life
· Unresolved issues connected to earlier life experiences.
Meiling takes a holistic approach to treatment, considering the whole person, rather than just the presenting symptoms. Meiling seeks to understand the underlying causes of particular problems, as well as looking at possible solutions to address or manage these.
Meiling believes that many of the issues people struggle with are often normal and valid responses to current and past life stressors and experiences, rather than being a sign that there is something wrong with your thoughts or emotions.
Counselling techniques used are derived from Interpersonal therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally focused therapy.
